One Day: 864 Pictures

So a couple of weeks ago I dragged my cousin downtown to practice taking some portraits. I have never been much of a people picture taker. I like things that don't move and aren't self-conscious in front of the camera. However, I still wanted to try. Below are a couple of pictures I took that day.

This is by far my favorite picture. I totally had her laying on the gravel (probably super uncomfortable) ground and there were pipes sticking out of the walls but I thought the brick and this little stump were the coolest backdrop. She was a total trouper and I love love love this picture!

Loved the contrast between the brick and purple wall plus the wrought iron fence.

This is an AWESOME door down in the old city. The picture is probably not technically the best, but I love how wrong the lighting is and the stark contrast between the door and the wall.

Now even though this was supposed to be practice for me shooting portraits, I couldn't abandon my true love of stationary objects. Here are just a few snaps in between the insane amounts of pictures I took of Kels.

An amazing headstone. This is one of the most amazing cemeteries I have every been in and it is in downtown Knoxville. Love the light...that is probably what drew me too it.

A Random Assortment

So I have finally had some time to go out {or stay in} and take some pictures. It's something I need to make more time for.

Robby and I discovered Cafe 4 due to the help of a friend. We love it! Plus we had an amazing concert of Erin McCarley with Butterfly Boucher to look forward to!

Nature Will Never Fail

So as I was uploading my pictures for this post I noticed a theme (and not an intentional one). Everything in this post seems to be earthy and green, whereas in my previous two posts things tended to be more based around water and blues. They must be in sync with my mood! All these pictures are older pictures. I hope to get some newer ones up real soon.

This is a picture of a tree on a old road out in my neck of the woods. I love taking pictures of silhouettes and this old tree made a great one with the sunset behind it.

I love old country roads. This is probably one of my favorite in the area.

These next two pictures are from Virginia. To be more exact Covington, VA. One of my favorite places to be. One was taken at the historical Humpback Bridge while the other was taken at Hot Springs.

Too many to post...

I have thousands...and I mean thousands of pictures on my computer. Well, not anymore because my poor little laptop starting getting too bogged down with pictures. So they are now stored on a trusty (hopefully so) hard drive. But since there are so many I thought why waste all that time and space...I should post some of my fav on here!!

If you don't know I am absolutely in love with the Biltmore, well then you don't know me very well. I think this place is magical. Enough said...here are some of my favorite pictures of Biltmore.

Here are some shots that I took on a photo assignment. Its amazing what you can find to shoot when you are given 3 hours to shoot whatever you want.

The Moon! Something that few people know about me is that I dreamed of becoming an astronaut. Yes, I know every little kid has this exact same dream. However, every little kid didn't probably cry when they touched moon rock at Kennedy Space Center, nor do they probably cry when they watch Neil Armstrong walk on the moon...I still do...every time.

Sea Turtles and Paradise

My first post has to be of my recent trip to the US Virgin Islands in Aug. 2009 with Robby. There are no words to describe this vacation. I seem to always use "Amazing" and "Perfect" but these words don't exude the feelings we felt and the memories we will always have. The picture below was taken on our last full day on the island. I had one request for the whole trip (well maybe not just one): I needed to drive around the island and take pictures of all the things I didn't the last time I was there (2004). So off we went driving around the tumultuous, winding roads on St. John. I shot some great pictures but here are just a couple that I really liked.

This is a picture of a sea turtle that I fell in love with at Leister Bay and couldn't stop following around. I am actually not that close to him. I zoomed so far in and couldn't tell what I was taking a picture of in my underwater case (which I LOVE for my point and shoot).
